- Senior Business Development Manager
Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a national role working within the Engineering Services division of a larger £100m group. You will be part of the senior leadership team, responsible for the development and implementation of business strategy that supports growth.
Responsible for generating new business and developing client account relationships, the role holder will also be expected to develop strategies and form client relationships to benefit the wider Group.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Working with the Senior Leadership Team, develop and deliver a sales and marketing strategy in line with business objectives with a special emphasis on quality profitable new business
Research and develop new business opportunities
Promoting the full capability of the Group services to customers.
To be responsible for the winning of new business and achieving individual sales targets, by gaining awareness of marketplace needs, the identification of potential clients and selling opportunities, producing impactful presentations, and writing detailed proposals.
To effectively engage with clients and to describe and sell solutions, which include engineering services from compliance and asset care to feasibility, concept, design, manufacturing, and installation.
To be accountable for monthly and annual sales reporting, together with sales data input to the monthly business forecasting process.
Act as the key liaison between the facilities services business development function and the wider group business development and marketing functions.
Setting or negotiating sale prices to new clients.
Managing and supporting operational teams in completing tender documents that demonstrate the professional capability of the business.
Working with the Commercial Team to deliver tenders on acceptable terms.
Developing credible relationships with key prospective and current clients in line with the companys sales strategy.
Creating and driving a realistic sales pipeline.
Maintaining accurate records on the CRM system.
Effectively interacting with the operations teams and briefing them on new sales and customers.
Encouraging feedback from our customers and ensuring that the relevant action is taken.
General
As a member of the Services Leadership team, you will be expected to contribute to the formulation of engineering and business strategy and positively assist in its implementation.
To ensure that, together with the whole team, we achieve high levels of customer satisfaction, and as a business we have excellent client retention.

Key Attributes
Experience in winning new contracts to deliver technical maintenance and project work
Good standard of education or equivalent experience
Proven track record of successful consultative sales and achieving targets within professional services (minimum 5 years)
Proven track record of directing strategy and overall business management development
Preferable to have experience working in complex and regulated environments
Excellent proposal writing and thought skills to win new business
Proven teamwork experience
Good general administration and IT skills
